Gackt Camui (神威 楽斗 Kamui Gakuto?) is a singer, songwriter, musician, model and actor. He was born in Okinawa on July 4, 1975. He pretends he was born in 1540. In 1995, he joined Malice Mizer as a vocalist. In 1999, he left the band and started a solo career. Until now, he has released 27 Singles and 8 albums.

Biography

Malice Mizer

Gackt joined Malice Mizer in 1995 as a vocalist, a pianist and a lyricist. His first single with the group was Uruwashiki Kamen no Shôtaijô. They released two albums with Gackt, Voyage ~Sans Retour~ in 1997 and Merveilles in 1998. But in January 1999, Gackt left the band and began his solo career. Shorty after, Kami, the band's drummer, died.

Solo career

Four months after he left Malice Mizer, Gackt released his first EP, Mizérable, containing four songs. In April 2000, his first album, named Mars was released. In this album, Gackt wrote two songs for Kami, emu ~for my dear~ and U+K.

Gackt then released several albums, Rebirth in 2001, Moon in 2002 and Crescent in 2003. Orenji no Taiyô, in Crescent, in a duet between Gackt and Hyde. This song is included in Moon Child, the movie staring the two singers.
